On average, we spend nearly 90 percent of our time indoors, yet a constant yearning for nature persists. The set design for Prada's Fall/Winter 2024 women's show made this contradiction visible: the tension between a largely confined existence and the desire to reconnect with the outdoors. Spectators were positioned on the periphery of the room, while the center remained open and was occupied by a living landscape of plants and a meandering river. The runway, defined by an orthogonal grid and a single line of hanging spotlights, contrasted with the organic nature of the floor, evoking the opposition between the contemporary built environment and an idealized vision of nature.

For the men's show, AMO proposed a radically different set design: an office interior literally built upon a natural landscape. In the Deposito space, one of the Prada Foundation buildings, an unlikely encounter took place between order and chaos, reality and fiction, predictability and spontaneity. Seated in office chairs under uniform white LED lighting, guests discovered a stream beneath their feet, flowing through a pastoral landscape hidden under a transparent floor. Present yet inaccessible, nature manifested itself in an analogical way within a context dominated by digital saturation.

The workplace—the everyday habitat of the contemporary individual—was thus confronted with an idealized scenario, blurring the lines between the tangible and the imagined. As the models moved through the sinuous network of chairs, the spectators were suspended between two realities to which they inevitably belonged.

Taken together, both sets highlighted the complex relationship between architecture and nature, proposing spaces where organic forms and precise geometries coexisted in tension. More than mere backdrops for fashion, the shows created atmospheres that oscillated between the real and the abstract, reinforcing the idea of constant transformation that permeates both fashion and contemporary experience.
